Beschrijving

The gallery Essenes and library are part of the Palace of Museums (18C) which is also home to the Museo Lapidario Estense, Museo Lapidario Romano and Musei Civici di Modena. The gallery opens with a bust of Francesco I of Este, a masterpiece by Bernini and displays paintings from the 15C Modena school and by masters from Venice, Ferrara and Bologna. Also not to be missed are the terracotta figures by Modena sculptors of the 15C-16C.
