Located to the south of Montmartre hill, along the former wall of the Farmers-General, this street is nowadays lined by theatres and concert halls, although the occasional sex shop and striptease club bear witness to its more seedy past. A few visitors will head to n° 65 to light a candle to St Rita, the patron saint of lost causes, while other seeking some peace and quiet can make for the Cité Véron (n° 94), where the poets Vian and Prévert once lived.
