The Cité de la Musique is now part of the Philharmonic orchestra of Paris. Designed by Christian de Portzamparc, this music complex stretches out on either side of the Fontaine aux Lions. To the west is the Conservatoire National Supérieur de Musique et de Danse, and to the east are a concert hall and the Music Museum. The latter, which includes a collection of around 1,000 instruments, is explored with the ears and eyes and provides a huge panorama of the world of music.
