This museum displays 14 000 works in its themed rooms, the sequence of which is at times confusing. European, American, Asian and Latin American painting is represented by an array of artists such as Courbet, Monet, Bierstadt, the Taos group, Frida Kahlo etc. It also displays Japanese weapons, Buddhist bronzes and 2 400 works of contemporary art by the likes of Calder and Georgia O'Keeffe. High-quality temporary exhibitions are also held here.
