The Serralves Foundation stands in magnificent 18ha grounds, and also boasts a Museum of Contemporary Art and Serralves Villa. The villa is a remarkable example of 1930s architecture, with an Art Deco interior created by Siclis, Brandt, Lalique, Perzel and Ruhlmann. The museum's collections cover artistic production since 1960, and the place hosts temporary exhibitions, conferences, dance shows and concerts, and is the largest cultural centre in the north of the country.
