This museum is housed in the ultra-contemporary Champs Libres building designed by Christian de Portzamparc. The permanent collection, Bretagne est Univers charts the history of the region with an original presentation of 2 300 artefacts (from the roughly cut pebble dating from the Palaeolithic, to the embroidered Bigouden jacket and Minitel) alternating with video sequences. A separate section of the museum covers the history of the famous Dreyfus trial that took place in Rennes.
