The best view of the cathedral of Rieux Volvestre is from the monument to the dead. From here you can see the fortified flat east wall (13C), the transversal nave of the Bishops' chancel and the bell tower. Inside take a closer look at the 17C Bishops' chancel (choeur des évêques), which has a high altar of polychrome marble. In the vestry of the canons is a large 14C cupboard, where Rieux's treasure is kept: bust-reliquaries and the wooden shrine (1672) of St Cizi, patron of the old diocese.
