Access is via the 216 steps of the Grand Staircase. Pilgrims used to fall to their knees at each station. Visitors can plunge into the religious past of Rocamadour and admire the former dwellings of the canons, now the offices of stores and hotels. The majority of the sacred monuments are located within this site.
