Beschrijving
There is hardly anything left of the Circus Maximus, situated between the Palatine and Aventine hills, except for a long esplanade. A track once ran along its course and chariot races were held there, with crowds that could reach 300,000 spectators. There are also a few remains towards the Porta Capena.
