Past the former Chay fort, the road overlooks several small beaches (Chay and Pigeonnier), commanding views of the Gironde estuary and the Côte de Beauté. It ends at Conche de Pontaillac, the most popular beach in Royan and the location of the casino and a host of trendy bars and restaurants. The plush villas above the beach are hidden by foliage.
