Calle Isabel la Católica is lined with handsome abodes. Visit Casa del Cordón (N° 214), reputed to be the first stone-built house of Santo Domingo (1502). A cord, symbol of the Franciscan order, frames the carved porch. The rest of the decor unveils a variety of styles ranging from Isabélin, Gothic and Mudéjar Moorish.
