Beschrijving
The largest of the Ionian Islands has a jagged, mountainous limestone topography with peninsulas, rocky headlands, deep gulfs and sandy beaches. The lush landscapes near its shores become more arid in the mountains and the busy beaches along the south coast. Mt Ainos is the highest point in the Ionian Islands (1 628m). You will be further won over by the romanticism of touching vestiges of a past replete with history.
