James Oglethorpe's renowned original city plan is depicted by 21 squares linked by broad thoroughfares, lined with stately 19C examples of Greek Revival, Federal, Regency and Georgian architecture. Today they form a patchwork of gracious mansions adorned with peristyles and wrought-iron balconies, small red-brick edifices and lush green squares. The lovely landscaped Forsyth Park, with its graceful fountain, anchors the south end of Bull Street.
