Beschrijving
This mountainous region in the heart of southern Norway, Telemark, is famous the world over as the birthplace of skiing. The landscapes of this region of rich contrasts vary from snow-capped mountains, dense forests, deep valleys and lakes, to a sunny coast dotted with islands. It has preserved many of its traditions, including its dialect, its sturdy timber houses and its local arts and crafts, which revolve around silverwork, wood sculpture and weaving.
