Beschrijving
Although built on high, Taormina is also a seaside resort. This is reached by funicular down to the small bay of Mazzarò, closed off to the south by the Cap Sant' Andrea, dotted with caves (including the Grotta Azzurra) and where the fishermen insist on inviting you aboard their boats... Beyond the cape is a superb bay enclosed by the Isola Bella, a beautiful sandbar... To the north of Mazzarò lie the largest beaches, Spisone, Mazzeo and Leitoianni (accessible by bus).
