Beschrijving
The amphitheatre in the former Roman Tarraco bears witness to the colony's political and social importance. Located in a magnificent natural site overlooking the sea, this edifice is built outside the city boundaries, on the slope of the præsidium hill, a Scipio military base. It is depicted by an elliptical layout characteristic of this type of construction, with in its centre, an arena surrounded by seating for the public.
