Praktische informatie

Beschrijving

Flights of steps wind their way up this low wooded hill, where the temple (the "Pagoda of the Hundred Compartments"), the Bell Tower and the Stele pavilion blend in with the landscape. The spacious yet sizeable rooms, with their heavy roofs, are now occupied by modern statues barely visible in the half light. The pagoda highlights the Buddhist virtues of austerity and renunciation. Founded in the early 13C, it was modified on many occasions - the current buildings date from the late 18C.
