This square is dominated by the façade of Toulon's theatre, one of the loveliest outside of Paris, which was built in 1862. The square also celebrates Jules Muraire, alias Raimu (1887-1947), the Toulon-born star of stage and screen, with a monumental fresco depicting the card scene from the film Marius and a statue of the actor.
