The "Arctic Cathedral" is the most original monument in the Tromsø area. Jan Inge Hovig's masterpiece allies glass and concrete in a geometrical building that makes use of the Arctic light to suggest an iceberg. Its ridge rising towards the sky is set against the backdrop of the imposing Mount Tromsdalstind (1 238m). The triangular façade is made of neutral glass panels. At the other end, an enormous stained-glass window casts a warm light.
