Simply spectacular, the Grand Canal is striking for its famous palazzi (especially impressive by night) but also because of its teeming human activity; the area around Rialto bridge is particularly lively. It's well worth jumping on a vaporetto and taking a trip down this legendary waterway, enjoying the extraordinary sight of Venice as you make your way across the water.
