This area lies right at the south of the city, between the Grand Canal and the Giudecca Canal. It is one of the cultural hubs of the city, home to the superb Accademia, the inspiring Peggy Guggenheim collection and the ultra-contemporary Punta della Dogana. The district also boasts charming narrow streets, small canals alongside which it is a pleasure to lose your way, tiny squares which are ideal for a break between sightseeing, and wisteria-covered, aristocratic palazzi.
