This belvedere stands on the top of the hill of Santa Luzia, to the north of the town, and is crowned by a modern basilica that is also a place of pilgrimage. It is accessible either by a cable-car (7min) which, at 650m in length, is the longest in Portugal, or by car along a paved road which climbs between pine trees, eucalyptus and mimosa.
