Beschrijving

A huge portico comprising 150 identical arcades divided into 15 groups separated by chapels lines the Viale X Giugno up to the Baroque basilica at the top of the hill. The church is home to the Pietà by Bartolomeo Montagna (1500) and the sacristy houses one of Veronese's most famous Last suppers, The Last Supper with St Gregory the Great. From the forecourt, the panoramic view over Vicenza, the Venetian plain and the Alps is superb.
