The Gornergrat railway, the highest open-air train in Europe, treats you to the unforgettable sight of the Mont Rose and its immense glacier circle. From the terminal platform, walk up to the top (5mins) (alt. 3,135m). Grandiose panorama over the glaciers and the Valais. Beyond, the climb up to the Hohtälli (3,286m) along a high ridge and to the Stockhorn (3,532m) provides a close-up view of Mont Rose, the Lyskam, Castor and Pollux.
