Sanlitun Street has for a long time been the favoured district for Westerners in the city. During the daytime, the embassies are busy here, while at night it is the turn of its huge variety of bars and restaurants to attract visitors. Understandably, prices are higher here than elsewhere in the city. If you're looking for authenticity this isn't the place, but if nightlife, Western beers and music are your thing, Sanlitun is definitely the place to be.
