The Lam Vien reserve occupies a delightful location amid the flooded Tra Su forest, criss-crossed by a network of canals and dykes which can be followed on foot or by scooter. You can also explore the reserve on a precariously balanced small boat - the best way of negotiating the narrow channels here and having any chance of spotting wading birds. However, the best viewpoint is from the top of a concrete tower built in the middle of the forest.
