Behind the pink brick Gothic facade, restored in the 19C, the Neoclassical interior of Saint Mark's church boasts an unusual 18C paper crèche and, in the right transept, some Gothic frescoes and the handsome 14C sarcophagus of Lanfranco Settala. Attracted by its exemplary acoustics, Mozart and Giuseppe Verdi played here and the church continues to host concerts today.
