Topping bluffs above the James River, the former estate of the late-19C railroad magnate James Dooley and his wife Sallie May Dooley has become an urban showpiece. The stone Romanesque Revival manor house, built in the 1890s, is decorated with the couple's extravagant furnishings, including a silver Tiffany table and carved narwhal tusks. There are also formal gardens, a farm for children and a nature centre.
