Beschrijving

Set in arid landscape, the massive outline of this late-18C mission can be seen from miles around. The school, founded in 1864, is still attended by Native American pupils. Christianity and Native American traditions are practiced side by side in the reserve and the mission is still active and run by Franciscan friars. The church is worthy of note, as much for its eclectic façade as for its colorful interior. The museum is mainly devoted to the history of missions.
